Twitter reactions: Craig Ervine, Tendai Chatara help Zimbabwe beat Scotland and reach T20 World Cup Super 12s
Zimbabwe scripted history on Friday as they defeated Scotland in the last game of Round 1 to book a spot in the Super 12 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Notably, this is the first time Zimbabwe have made it into the second stage in the history of World T20.
Chasing the paltry target of 133 was never going to be a tough task for Zimbabwe, but they were in a spot of bother after losing three wickets for 42 in 8 overs. However, Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza, the backbone of Zimbabwe cricket for the past decade, stood out once again and took the team to the next stage of the multi-team event.
While skipper Ervine smashed a brilliant 58 from 54 deliveries, including 6 fours, Raza scored a quickfire 23-ball 40 with the help of three fours and a couple of maximums. The duo added 64 runs for the fourth wicket, which eventually helped Zimbabwe finish the proceedings in 18.3 overs, with five wickets in hand.
Earlier, Zimbabwe’s bowling attack performed exceptionally well and restricted the Scottish side to 132/6 in 20 overs. Tendai Chatara was their pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets while conceding only 14 runs in his quota of 4 overs, including a maiden.
Apart from Chatara, Richard Ngarava (2/28), Blessing Muzarabani (1/34), and Raza (1/20) chipped in with valuable contributions. For Scotland, opener George Munsey top-scored with 54 from 51 deliveries, including seven boundaries.

Zimbabwe were suspended for last WC for political interference, Muzarabani a Kolpak, Ballance for ENG, Ryan Burl's shoes, Taylor/Streak were done for fixing, and they didn't qualify for the 2019 World Cup.
And that, and so much more, they just made the main part of the WC.
