T20 World Cup 2022: Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan – Predicted XI, Pitch & Weather report

Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan

Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will square off against each other in the 32nd match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 at the Gabba in Brisbane on Tuesday, November 1.

Both teams arrive into this match with their campaigns in critical condition. Sri Lanka have just been crushed back-to-back, first by Australia and then New Zealand. Afghanistan have had successive matches called-off due of rain, having earlier been thrashed by England. The loser here will be out of semi-finals contention.

Pitch and Weather report

The pitch in Brisbane offers pace and bounce; therefore, fast bowlers can be the key wicket-takers in the upcoming contest.

There are 90% chances of rain according to some forecasts.

Who said what

“We know we’re the Asian champions. We are using that for confidence. Our mentality is very good. We are trying to bounce back from the match against New Zealand,” said Sri Lanka pacer Kasun Rajitha.

“I think we’ll be fresh. We will have a lot of energy going into the game, so it’s exciting times. We’ve played here in a pre-tournament game, and had that experience. And we had over two weeks preparing here in Brisbane. It’s a little bit warmer now than it was when we were here preparing for the tournament,” Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott told reporters.
