T20 World Cup 2022: Sri Lanka thrashes UAE; Netherlands wins a thriller against Namibia
Dushmantha Chameera (3/15) and Wanindu Hasaranga (3/8) led Sri Lanka’s fiery bowling display against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a T20 World Cup game at the Simonds Stadium on Tuesday as the Islanders got their campaign back on track with an emphatic 79-run victory.
Opening Pathum Nissanka played a sensible knock of 74 in 60 balls, helping Sri Lanka post a competitive 152-8 after a hat-trick from leg-spinner Karthik Meiyappan derailed the Asia Cup champion, who suffered an embarrassing 55-run defeat against Namibia in the opening match of the tournament.
