Virat Kohli signed a jersey for Rashid Khan during RCB's lap of honour at the Chinnaswamy Stadium

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) may not have qualified for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, but they took the time to thank their supporters and did a lap of honour at the Chinnaswamy Stadium after their last league stage match against Gujarat Titans (GT). Before the lap, RCB star Virat Kohli was spotted having an interaction with a few of the GT players, and he even signed a jersey for the Ahmedabad-based side’s mystery spinner Rashid Khan in a heartwarming gesture.

Rashid was overjoyed to receive the souvenir from the former RCB skipper and hugged Virat soon after the latter handed him over a signed jersey. After the melting gesture, Virat joined the other team members for the lap of honour and thanked the RCB supporters for their constant support.

Notably, the lap of honour was led by RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, and he was accompanied by Wayne Parnell, Mohammed Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik and the rest of the RCB team. The head coach of the side Mike Hesson also took part in the circular walk and expressed gratitude to the Chinnaswamy crowd.

Although Virat’s century went in vain and RCB lost their last league stage match against GT, the 34-year-old clapped for the Banglore-based team supporters and bid farewell to IPL 2023 with a smiling face. The video of the same has gone viral on the internet and has been reshared by thousands of fans.

Here’s the video:

Speaking of Virat’s performance in the IPL 2023, the RCB batter amassed 639 runs in the 16th edition of the league, comprising two consecutive centuries and six fifties. However, despite the sensational form, Virat failed to sail his team into the playoffs, and the Bangalore-based team ended their campaign on the fifth position of the league stage points table.
