IPL 2023: Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma? Deepak Chahar names his favourite wicket
To deny the fact that dismissing Virat Kohli, the star batter of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai Indians (MI), is the most coveted achievement for any bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) would be incorrect.
This applies to both spinners and pacers. In fact, no matter what their form is, the reputation of Kohli and Rohit, along with their marvellous stats, make them two of the most sought-after wickets in the cash-rich league.
The duo carry outstanding records with themselves and have dominated batting charts in the lucrative tournament. While Kohli is the only player to accomplish the 7000-run benchmark and is the leading run-getter in IPL, Rohit isn’t far behind either, with over 6000 runs and positioned at the fourth spot amongst most run scorers.
In the ongoing 16th season of the lucrative league, the former RCB skipper is one of the top batters in terms of total runs scored, but there have been concerns about his strike rate too. In contrast, Rohit is going through a rough patch and has recently become the player with the most number of ducks in the IPL (16).
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar was recently asked about his favourite wicket between Kohli and Rohit. The CSK swing bowler took a little time before he came up with a cheeky response. Chahar said he got Rohit several times in IPL, so he will go with Kohli.
“Favourite wicket? Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli? It’s a tough one,” Chahar was quizzed.
“I have got Rohit Bhai many times. So, Virat Kohli,” answered the CSK star.

In the 16th season of IPL, Chahar, who has struggled with fitness issues, has played 6 matches for CSK, in which the right-arm pacer has taken four wickets with 2/18 being his best.
