IPL 2023: PBKS vs DC, Match 64: Pitch Report, Probable XI and Match Prediction

Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play against Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2023 Match 64 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala on Wednesday.

This is the second time that both the sides will be up against each other in this season. In the previous encounter, PBKS defeated DC at their home ground by 31 runs. Punjab opener Prabhsimran Singh played a blistering innings of 103 runs in just 65 balls on the tough pitch. In the bowling department, Harpreet Brar took four wickets in his quota of four overs and dismantled DC’s top order.

The Delhi-based franchise will look to give opportunities to the new faces as they are already out of the tournament. On the other hand, PBKS will look to win the two remaining games to qualify for the playoffs. It will be interesting to see the kind of approach with which the host looks to play.

Pitch report:

Dharmasala will host an  IPL match after the break of three years. No match was played at this venue due to covid restrictions of late.

As far as history is concerned, the pitch at this venue favors the fast bowlers. Due to the high amount of purchase and swing the pacers gets here, the scores are minimal. Chasing under the lights is quite difficult as the bowlers usually runs through the batting line up in the second innings.
