Cricket fraternity congratulates Virat Kohli for his 100th Test appearance

The ongoing first Test between India and Sri Lanka at PCA Stadium in Mohali is a special match for former Indian skipper Virat Kohli as he is playing his 100th Test. He is the 12th Indian and 71st player overall to feature in 100 Test matches in the red-ball format.

As the star cricketer added another feather to his illustrious cap, the cricket fraternity didn’t miss the opportunity to express good wishes to Kohli on reaching such a big milestone.

Senior Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan took to his official Twitter account and wrote: “Congratulations bro Test matches! What an amazing achievement and an incredible journey, @imVkohli.”

Former India batter Suresh Raina extended his wishes to Kohli on a special day.

“Best wishes to @imVkohli for his 100th test match & many congratulations on achieving a new milestone #100thTestForKingKohli”, Raina wrote on Twitter.

Former India cricketer Yusuf Pathan congratulated the Delhi-born and reckoned that Kohli always prioritize the longest format, and that’s one of the reasons why Test cricket is going strong.

“100 Test matches for @imVkohli A tremendous achievement. Always prioritized the longest format of the game, one of the reasons why Test cricket is still going strong. Long way to go #ViratKohli100thTest,” tweeted Pathan.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to Twitter and wrote: “His journey has been a union of emotion, passion, dedication and determination. To the man who redefined Test cricket and infused it with fresh life, congratulations @imVkohli on this landmark Test. Let’s come together and celebrate #VK100.”

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer termed Kohli as the heart of Test cricket while congratulating the Delhi-born superstar.

“Virat Kohli is the heart of Test Cricket. As long as he’s playing, the heart will be beating strong. Congratulations on your 100th @imVkohli and best wishes for many, many more #INDvSL,” tweeted Jaffer.
