Nattaya Boochatham, Naruemol Chaiwai shine as Thailand whitewash Zimbabwe in the ODI series

In a low-scoring encounter, Thailand Women defeated Zimbabwe Women by six wickets in the third ODI of the Zimbabwe Women tour of Thailand 2023, played at Terdthai Cricket Ground. With the result, Thailand also registered a clean sweep over the visitors.

Zimbabwe Women won the toss and elected to bat first but struggled to get going against a disciplined bowling attack from the Thai team. They were bowled out for just 112 runs in 38.5 overs, with Loren Tshuma being the top scorer with 32 runs.

The Thai bowlers shared the wickets among themselves, with Nattaya Boochatham and Thipatcha Putthawong being the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets each, while Chanida Sutthiruang and Phannita Maya took one wicket each.

Chasing a modest total, Thailand Women got off to a poor start, losing their captain Sornnarin Tippoch for a duck on the first ball of the innings. However, Natthakan Chantham and Naruemol Chaiwai steadied the innings with a 52-run partnership for the second wicket. Chaiwai went on to score a well-crafted half-century, which included nine boundaries.

Despite losing a few quick wickets towards the end, Thailand Women managed to reach the target in 27.2 overs with six wickets in hand. Kellies Ndlovu was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe Women, taking two wickets for 19 runs in her eight overs.
