WATCH: Shadab Khan’s heartening reply when asked if Virat Kohli doesn’t instil fear anymore
Indian superstar Virat Kohli has been going through a rough patch in international cricket as he has been so far unable to find his mojo. The former India skipper is having a nightmarish run across the formats, with his last international century coming in 2019.
Fans, however, are looking forward to see Kohli returning in form after an extended break from the game. The Delhi-lad is all set to return to action in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, where India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28 in Dubai.
Ahead of the mouth-watering clash, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan attended a press conference, where he was quizzed about Kohli. Shadab was asked, “Virat Kohli doesn’t instil fear in bowlers anymore”?
The Pakistan all-rounder came up with a heartwarming response, taking shots on former cricketers and stating they don’t play anymore and reckon Kohli isn’t like he used to be. Shadab termed Kohli as a ‘legend of the game’ and mentioned that the former Indian skipper is a big player, and whenever he walks in to bat, one is always a bit scared.
“They (the former cricketers) don’t play anymore; that’s why they think that he doesn’t instil fear. He is a legend of the game, he has performed quite a lot. Whenever he comes, you are a bit scared because he is a big player. We don’t want him to play a long innings against us,” said Shadab.
He also wished to see Kohli coming back into his sublime form. The Pakistan cricketer said he wishes to see Kohli hitting a century in the tournament but not against his side.
“I pray that he returns to how he was. He is performing good even now, but the standards that he has set.. they make it feel as if he is out of form. I personally wish that he scores a century, not against us, but against some team else in this tournament,” added Shadab.
