Ross Taylor extends a heartening wish to Virat Kohli for completing 100 T20Is

Former India skipper Virat Kohli added another feat to his glorious list of achievements after he stepped on the field in India’s opening game in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday. It was Kohli’s 100th game in the T20 Internationals (T20Is) for Team India.

Kohli became the first Indian to achieve the epic milestone of playing 100 matches in all three formats of the game. Overall, the Indian batting superstar is the second player in world cricket to accomplish the landmark after legendary New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor.

Notably, Taylor retired from international cricket earlier this year. On Monday (August 29), the former Black Caps captain took to social media and congratulated Kohli for his stunning achievement and welcomed the Indian superstar to the elusive club. Taylor mentioned that he is looking forward to watching Kohli play for a number of years.

“Congratulations, @imVkohli, on your 100th T20 game for India. Welcome to the club. I look forward to watching many more of your games in the years to come!” Taylor wrote on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

Notably, Kohli played his 100th Test match against Sri Lanka earlier in the year and appeared in his 100th ODI against West Indies in the 2013 Champions Trophy. With an average of 57.68, the 2011 World Cup-winner amassed 12344 runs in ODIs and 8074 runs in 102 Tests. Similarly, in the shortest format, Kohli has 3343 runs to his credit at an average of 49.89.
