WATCH: Tim David takes a stunning catch on the boundary to dismiss Naseem Shah – PSL 2022

Tim David takes a stunner in PSL 2022

The defending champions Multan Sultans have begun their campaign in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 on a spectacular note with four triumphs in as many matches.

Be it in batting, bowling, and fielding, the Sultans have shown top-class cricket across the three departments. A glimpse of such was on display in their third game against Quetta Gladiators at National Stadium in Karachi.

The game went down to the wire where Sultans registered a thrilling win by six runs thanks to an incredible fielding effort by Tim David, who grabbed a stunner on the boundary line to stop a certain six hit by Naseem Shah.

It all happened in the final over when Gladiators needed 7 runs to win off the last two balls, with just one wicket remaining. David Wiley bowled a short delivery to tailender Naseem, who connected the ball pretty well towards the deep square leg.

It looked like the ball would easily sail over the boundary line, but David had some other plans. The Singaporean cricketer plucked the ball over his head, but the momentum took him over the rope. However, David soon realised that he might take the ball along with himself, so he threw it in the air before grabbing the rebound.

Here is the video:

Earlier, Sultan’s opening batsman Shan Masood continued his fabulous form and smashed 88 runs off just 58 deliveries. David, on the other hand, chipped in well with an unbeaten 28 to help his side post a total of 174/4 in 20 overs.

“What matters is mental space, and I am in a very good mental space. If you do the basics right, it will help you play freely in all three formats. Today was one day where you wanted Rizwan to play all the way with ball gripping and slower balls working, unfortunately, we lost him early and managed to up the momentum in the end. Willey bowled outstandingly well, and his spell was what won us the game in the end,” Masood said after the match.
