Glenn Maxwell, Smriti Mandhana among overseas stars retained for The Hundred 2022
More than 150 men’s and women’s players have been retained by their respective franchises ahead of the 2022 season of The Hundred, confirmed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday.
The Men’s list features several prominent overseas cricketers such as Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David and Rashid Khan. When it comes to England players, stars like Eoin Morgan, Jofra Archer, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Joe Root, Sam Curran, Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and others have been retained.
Similarly, among the overseas women cricketers, Smriti Mandhana, Lizelle Lee, Marizanne Kapp, Jemimah Rodrigues and others have been retained by their franchises. Likewise, some prominent English women stars who have been retained are Katherine Brunt, Nat Sciver, Sophie Ecclestone and Heather Knight.
