Asia Cup 2022: WATCH – Virat Kohli bows to Suryakumar Yadav after latter’s explosive knock against Hong Kong
Team India qualified for the Super Four stage in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 after defeating Hong Kong by 40 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Indian superstar Virat Kohli smashed his 31st half-century to roar back in form. Kohli impressed everyone with his bat, but it was Suryakumar Yadav who was the star of the night.
SKY played an explosive knock to help India post a humungous 192/2 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. The right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 68 off just 26 balls, with the help of 12 boundaries, including 6 sixes. His stunning batting display was at its peak when he faced Haroon Arshad in the final over. The Pune-born batter smashed four sixes off Arshad and took India to a formidable total.
After the last over, which resulted in 26 runs, Suryakumar received appreciation from all corners. However, the gesture from Kohli attracted maximum eyeballs. The former India captain was seen bowing down to Suryakumar before heading towards the dugout.

After the contest, Suryakumar spoke about Kohli’s gesture and said he enjoyed batting with Kohli and was super-impressed with the gesture from the Delhi-lad.
“It was actually a heart-warming gesture for me, I have not seen anything like that before. I was wondering why is he not walking with me, he was walking just behind me and later on I told him, let’s walk together. I really enjoyed batting with him, and I told him the same after the innings. We were constantly talking to each other, and the game plan was clear. The experience mattered, I think, I have not played as many T20I as him, and so I really enjoyed batting with him,” said Suryakumar in the post-match presser.
