Twitter reactions: Bowlers shine as LSG thrash PBKS in a low-scoring thriller at IPL 2022
In Match 42 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 20 runs at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Friday.
Chasing the paltry target of 154, Punjab kept losing wickets at regular intervals as the game went down to the wire. Mayank Agarwal (25 off 17) and Jonny Bairstow (32 off 28) got off to good starts but were unable to cruise it further.
Mohsin Khan, Dushmantha Chameera and Krunal Pandya all sizzled with the ball to help Lucknow defend the low score. Mohsin bagged a three-wicket haul for 24 runs in his quota of 4 overs, including a maiden. Similarly, Chameera (2/17) and Pandya (2/11) picked up two scalps each to further derail Punjab’s chase.
Earlier, Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar shined with the ball for Punjab to help their side restrict Lucknow at 153/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Rabada picked up a brilliant 4-wicket haul for 38 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Similarly, Chahar bagged a couple while giving away 30 runs in 4 overs.
For Lucknow, opener Quinton de Kock top-scored with 46 from 37 deliveries with the help of 4 fours and a couple of sixes. Deepak Hooda also chipped in with a valuable 34 off 28 balls, including three boundaries.

Liam Livingstone’s dismissal was the turning point of the game…as far as Punjab is concerned.

LSG have been top notch through the tournament. Gambhir and Flower make a good combo. They have had a good auction with a solid indian core. They have defended low scores and chased high scores and Won without their stars. Going to be a tough fight to finish in the top 2.
