WATCH: Trent Boult’s last-ball six guides Northern Brave to a thrilling win over Canterbury Kings

In the Super Smash clash, playing for Northern Brave against Canterbury Kings, New Zealand pacer Trent Boult did what many specialist batters fail to do under pressure.

With six needed to win off the last ball, Boult cleared the fence to guide his team to a sensational victory.

Boult sounded ecstatic after his glorious hitting and said that it was a pleasure to provide such sort of entertainment to the spectators.

“I said I didn’t want to bat, but obviously a great game. Came down to the wire and great to see the crowd turning tonight, and I’m glad we crossed the line. I am not going to give you any coaching or lessons of sort. It was a simple equation so I am happy it came off. We hung in there and got the job done,” said Boult after the match.

Batting first, Canterbury Kings couldn’t get going and were restricted to 107 runs in 17.2 overs. Boult bowled brilliantly, bagging two wickets for 21 runs in three overs.

Off-spinner Joe Walker was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 31.

In reply, Northern Brave batters also struggled for runs as they were rocked by superb bowling spells from Ed Nuttall and Blake Coburn.

Nuttall had a mixed outing. While defending eight runs in the final over, he grabbed three wickets and gave away only two runs in the first five balls. But, Boult spoiled his party with a match-winning six on the last ball of the match.
