Wasim Jaffer brutally trolls Michael Vaughan after England’s embarrassing loss in MCG Test

Wasim Jaffer trolls Michael Vaughan

England were thrashed by Australia in the third Ashes Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as the hosts retained the Ashes. The tourists were bundled out for a mere 68 in their second innings as the home team won the contest by an innings and 14 runs.

Australian debutant Scott Boland finished with stunning figures of 6/7 from four overs, getting rid of Jonny Bairstow (5), England captain Joe Root (28) and tailenders Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson for respective ducks. Boland had taken his first two wickets of the 2nd innings on Day 2 of the game.

After England’s embarrassing loss, former India opener Wasim Jaffer took the opportunity to troll ex-England captain Michael Vaughan for his old tweet of 2019.

Notably, in 2019, India had been bowled out for 92 by New Zealand in Hamilton, where pacer Trent Boult had taken a stunning five-wicket haul. At that time, Vaughan had made fun of India’s performance and had tweeted: “92 all out India … Can’t believe any team would get bowled out for under a 100 these days !!!!!!”

Jaffer shared a video on his official Twitter handle to take a funny dig at Vaughan. Jaffer is seen opening up the old tweet of Vaughan on his phone before giving the thumbs up.

Jaffer’s tweet immediately went viral on social media as Vaughan himself reacted to it. The former England skipper appreciated Jaffer for his tweet with a few ‘Winking face with tongue’ emojis.

After the embarrassing loss, Root admitted that Australia blew his team away and completely outplayed them in the match.

“It is what it is. We have come to dealing with this sort of an environment for a while now. Credit to Australia, they blew us away last night, and they have outplayed us in this Test match, in fact, the series so far. We have a lot of hard work to do now and come back strong in the last two games. Covid threat wasn’t ideal,” said Root after the match.
