The highlight of the game came on the 84th ball of the first innings when Pollard nearly hit a six that landed dangerously close to the Sky Sports commentary pod.

Pollard’s quickfire innings saw him scoring 17 runs off just 12 balls, including two massive sixes, culminating in an impressive strike rate 141.67. His explosive batting helped Southern Brave post a competitive total of 139/5 in their allotted 100 balls.

James Vince’s captain’s knock
The standout performance of the innings, however, came from Southern Brave’s skipper, James Vince. Vince played a captain’s knock, remaining unbeaten on 73 runs off 50 balls. His innings was laced with seven fours and three sixes. Vince’s commanding performance set a formidable target of 140 runs for Welsh Fire.
In response, Welsh Fire struggled against a disciplined bowling attack from Southern Brave. The chase ended with Welsh Fire being bowled out for 97 runs in 95 balls. Tymal Mills was the star bowler for Southern Brave, delivering a stellar performance. Mills bowled 20 deliveries, including 13 dot balls, conceding just 16 runs and taking four crucial wickets.
Southern Brave’s bowlers, led by Mills, stifled Welsh Fire’s batting lineup, ensuring a comprehensive victory by 42 runs. This win solidified Southern Brave’s position in the tournament and showcased their all-around strength as a team.
