WATCH: Naveen-ul-Haq mocks Gulbadin Naib over injury drama against Bangladesh; Afghanistan pacer responds | T20 WC 2024

Gulbadin Naib‘s dramatic display became an unforgettable moment as Afghanistan secured a historic victory over Bangladesh by 8 runs, clinching a spot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals. This remarkable achievement also resulted in Australia’s exit from the tournament. Led by Rashid Khan, Afghanistan reached the semifinals of an ICC event for the first time ever.

Strategic move during rain delays

The match experienced several rain delays, and during one such interruption, Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott advised his team to slow down the game as light rain began, with Afghanistan ahead on the DLS method. Gulbadin Naib responded by pretending to be injured, a move widely believed to be a tactic to waste time. Despite the apparent injury, Gulbadin returned to bowl shortly after.

Naveen-ul-Haq’s playful jab

Gulbadin’s teammates joined in the fun, with pacer Naveen-ul-Haq posting a humorous meme on Instagram, mocking Gulbadin’s antics. The meme was inspired by the popular Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar movie ‘Welcome.’
