WATCH: MS Dhoni’s golden advice to Bhutan cricketer Mikyo Dorji

MS Dhoni shares an advice to Mikyo Dorji

The upcoming 2022 season of the world’s toughest cricket tournament, the Indian Premier League (IPL), will bring more excitement as two new teams – Lucknow and Ahmedabad – are entering the competition.

Before the fifteenth season of the cash-rich league begins, the mega-auction will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Since it’s going to be a big players auction, many already established stars and young as well as aspiring cricketers will go under the hammer.

Notably, as many as 1214 players from around the world have registered for the forthcoming bidding process, and one of these players is the first from his country – Mikyo Dorji, who belongs to Bhutan.

Dorji has played against the likes of Shahid Afridi during the 2021 edition of the Everest Premier League in Nepal. Ahead of the mega auction, Dorji took to his official Instagram profile and shared a picture along with a video featuring none other than former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

In that photo, Dorji was seen posing with Dhoni, and holding a signed Bhutan team jersey. Similarly, in the video, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper can be seen giving some tips to the young cricketer.

“Keep it simple. Focus more on the process and less on the results. If you get the process right, you will get the result. And enjoy, don’t take too much pressure. Ever since the great MS Dhoni gave me this piece of advice, it has always stuck with me,” said Dhoni.

Here is the video:

Dorji mentioned that his ‘ultimate dream’ is to play in the IPL. Although the Bhutanese cricketer has submitted his name in the auction, but he does not feel that he will make the cut into the final list.

“Playing in the IPL is an ultimate dream for me. People saw that there was one player in the auction list from Bhutan, and my friends started calling me. But they don’t know (laughs) that this is just the initial round, and the names are going to be shortlisted further. If I am honest to myself, my name will not be there in the main list after it is trimmed. Anyways, just registering is a big deal for Bhutan,” Dorji was quoted saying to New Indian Express.
