Indian opener Shafali Verma has regained her number one spot in the latest T20I Rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday. Shafali has replaced Australian star Beth Mooney to reclaim the numero uno position among batters.

Shafali’s partner-in-crime for the Indian team, Smriti Mandhana, who bagged the ICC Women’s cricketer of year award on Monday, dropped a place to fourth.

Sri Lanka star Chamari Athapaththu is the major gainer in the batters rankings. She has advanced six positions to break into the top 10 after a splendid performance in the Commonwealth Games Qualifiers. In the competition, Athapaththu scored 221 runs at a brilliant average and strike-rate of 55.25 and 185.71 respectively. She is now sitting in eighth place in the rankings.

New Zealand also have two players in the top 10, with Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates managing to retain their fifth and seventh positions respectively. Devine is also comfortably sitting at the top spot amongst the all-rounders in the shortest format. She is followed by England’s Natalie Sciver and India’s Deepti Sharma.

Pakistan’s Nida Dar and Thailand’s Nattaya Boochatham have also climbed two places to the ninth and 10th positions respectively. However, Australian superstar Ellyse Perry has slipped four positions to go out of the top 10.

When it comes to the bowler’s rankings, the top three remained unchanged with England’s Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn retaining the first and second spots respectively while the third slot stayed with South Africa’s Shabnim Isnmail. Indian star Deepti advanced one position to replace Australia’s Megan Schutt from the fourth place.
