ICC Awards 2021: Here is the complete list of winners

On Sunday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named the winners of their yearly awards. Notably, these awards honour players for their performances for their respective national side in a year.

The apex international cricket governing body has named the winners in the different categories such as: Emerging Cricketer of the Year, T20I Cricketer of the Year and Associate Cricketer of the Year for both men’s and women’s cricket.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was named the Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year. Rizwan had a tremendous 2021, where he scored 1326 runs in 29 matches at an outstanding average of 73.66 and a strike rate of 134.89. He played a key role in Pakistan’s journey to the semis during the T20 World Cup 2021, where he finished as the third-highest run-getter.

Similarly, England star Tammy Beaumont bagged the Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award. She enjoyed a great run in 2021, scoring 303 in nine matches at an average of 33.66, including three half-centuries. Beaumont was England’s highest run-getter in 2021 and third-highest overall.

When it comes to Emerging Cricketer of the Year, South Africa opener Janneman Malan bagged the award in Men’s category. Malan impressed one and all with his sheer consistency with the bat. He scored 715 runs in 17 international matches at a splendid average of 47.66 and strike-rate of 101.85, including a couple of hundreds and three half-centuries.

Likewise, Pakistan star Fatima Sana was named Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year. Sana picked up 24 wickets at an average of 23.95 and made 165 runs at 16.50 in 16 international matches in 2021.

The other category in which ICC named the winners was Associate Cricketer of the Year, and Zeeshan Maqsood from Oman bagged the award. The top-quality all-rounder scored 316 runs at 31.60 and took 21 wickets at 18.80 in 13 international matches in the year 2021.

Austria’s Andrea-Mae Zepeda bagged the Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Year award. She scored 361 runs in eight T20Is at an average of 51.57 and strike-rate of 102.55, which included one century and two fifties.

Notably, there are other ICC awards as well, all of which will be announced by Monday, January 24.
