USA beat Canada in the first T20I

In the inaugural match of the Canada tour of the United States of America 2024, fans witnessed an intense battle between the host nation and their northern rivals. The Prairie View Cricket Complex set the stage for an exhilarating encounter where USA emerged victorious by 6 wickets to kick off the 5-match leg in grand style.

Nosthush Kenjige’s splendid bowling restrict Canada at a below-par total

United States of America (USA) won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that proved fruitful as they managed to restrict Canada to a modest total of 132 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Despite several batters getting starts, Canada struggled to capitalize, with only Saad Zafar‘s aggressive knock of 29 runs off 16 balls providing some momentum.

The disciplined bowling from USA, led by Nosthush Kenjige, Saurabh Netravalkar and Shadley van Schalkwyk, ensured that Canada’s innings never truly took off. Kenjige was their pick of the bowler with a sensational 3-wicket haul while conceding 21 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Netravalkar and Van Schalkwyk bagged two scalps each.
