Khaleel Ahmed, the game-changer for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), hopes to make his comeback for India shortly.

Khaleel, who won the Player of the Match Award for his impressive spell of 4-1-21-2, said during the post-match presentation that he has worked very hard in domestic cricket and played many matches in the last six months. Hence, his ultimate goal is to represent his national team again.

Pulling the match for DC

DC batted first in their match against CSK and set the target of 191 runs for the Yellow Army. DC’s batting included spectacular knock of 52 from opening batter David Warner and a much-awaited half-century from skipper Rishabh Pant.

The defending Delhi bowlers put all their efforts into the match and brought CSK down to their knees. Eventually, they won the match by 20 runs, throwing a blistering knock of MS Dhoni in vain. With this defeat, CSK have slipped to second position in the IPL 2024 points table, while DC now stands at seventh position.

The ambitious Khaleel

When Khaleel went to collect his ‘Player of the Match’, he firstly gave a bold statement that every ground in which CSK plays becomes a home ground from them. The left-arm pacer also mentioned that he wasn’t surprised after seeing the crowd of Vizag in Chennai’s flavour.

“I have worked hard in the domestic season. I played a lot of matches in the last six months, which has helped me know my game better. I love it when the ball swings and the batters get beaten. Have tried to figure out how I can keep myself fit. The red-ball game teaches you a lot about how the ball is coming out of the hand. The ultimate goal is to play for India,” said Khaleel in post-match presentation.
