Pakistan legend Wasim Akram gives his verdict on IPL versus PSL
In the dynamic landscape of global cricket leagues, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has long been hailed as the pinnacle of cricketing extravaganzas, drawing attention and admiration from fans worldwide. However, the emergence of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has added a new layer of excitement to the cricketing world.
Legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram recently shared insights on the perennial IPL vs PSL debate. The former pacer’s perspective adds depth to the ongoing discourse surrounding these two premier T20 leagues, showcasing the global evolving and competitive nature of cricket.
Wasim Akram’s take on IPL vs PSL
When questioned about the IPL versus PSL debate on Sportskeeda, Akram unequivocally favoured IPL. Having experience covering both leagues, Akram emphasized the enormity of the IPL, stating that a direct comparison between the two is unwarranted. While acknowledging the significant stature of PSL within its home country, he likened it to a mini-IPL for Pakistan, underscoring the distinct scales of the two T20 leagues.
“IPL. I have worked in both. You can’t compare the two, IPL is huge. PSL is huge in Pakistan, no doubt; it’s like mini-IPL of Pakistan,” Akram said.
