In a heartwarming display of sportsmanship and camaraderie, cricketing giants Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma engaged in a friendly interaction with Pakistan players, including Haris Rauf and Babar Azam, on the eve of the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2023.

Although the atmosphere is pumped up as one of the most fierce cricketing battles approaches, the sight of Indian batting maestro Kohli sharing laughs and pleasantries with Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf was a delightful prelude to the intense contest set to unfold on September 2. The video footage capturing this candid moment has gone viral on social media, with fans from both sides of the border appreciating the gesture of goodwill.

The viral clip starts with Kohli meeting Pakistan pacer Rauf and sharing a few good laughs, followed by Rohit interacting with his counterpart Babar and Imam ul Haq. Kohli can also be seen having a word with Shadab Khan in the later part of the video with Shaheen Shah Afridi and other players also present. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared the video of the same on their official X (previously Twitter) handle.

“Pakistan and India players meet up ahead of Saturday’s #PAKvIND match in Kandy,” PCB captioned the shared clip.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan are coming from a comprehensive win over Nepal in the tournament opener and have decided to field the same line-up against India. Babar and Iftikhar Ahmed were the standout performers for the team in the match and slammed brilliant tons, while Shadab shined with the ball and picked a brilliant 4-fer.

On the other hand, India will be playing their first game in the Asia Cup 2023 and will be looking to start their campaign on a good note.
