Babar Azam's father responds to Mohammad Asif

Azam Siddiqui, the father of Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam, has issued a noteworthy response to the recent remarks made on his son by former cricketer Mohammad Asif.

Asif said he could bowl a maiden over to Babar even at this stage in his career. To back his assertion, the right-handed pacer emphasized that the Babar would find it challenging to make solid contact with the ball if consistently confronted with a barrage of well-pitched deliveries.

“I selected Babar in the trials”: Asif on Babar

Asif claimed that he was the one who selected Babar during the ZTBL trials. Furthermore, he pointed out a specific aspect of the right hander’s batting style, highlighting the frequency of dot balls in his innings, which he believes could pressure his partner, Mohammad Rizwan.

“I selected Babar Azam in the trials after he faced two balls only, you can ask his father that I picked Babar in ZTBL trials. I rate highly, he is one of the best batters in the country but he plays dots in the power-play and puts pressure on Rizwan. I can bowl a maiden over to Babar Azam in T20 cricket even today, he cannot hit the ball if you bowl good deliveries to him,” Asif said on Twitter space.

Every individual is responsible for their actions: Azam Siddiqui

Responding to the big claims about his son, Azam came up with a humble response. In a post he shared on Instagram, Babar’s father mentioned that every person is responsible for their actions, and if the day ever comes, his son will happily play a maiden against him as a symbol of respect.

“Dear Mr. Mohammad Asif, every individual is responsible for their actions. If such a time comes, Babar will gladly play a maiden over against you in order to show you respect” Azam Siddiqui mentioned while concluding his post.
