WATCH: Babar Azam’s annoyed reaction to a reporter yelling at him for ignoring his question

Babar Azam leaving the press conference

Pakistan captain Babar Azam got annoyed with a journalist after the first Test match against New Zealand in Karachi on Friday.

The encounter ended in a draw as there were early stumps on Day 5 due to bad light. Chasing a tricky total of 138 to win in 15 overs, New Zealand scored 61 runs for the loss of one wicket in 7.3 overs.

During the press conference held after the match, Azam responded to the questions put forward by the reporters. Just when the conference was coming to an end, one of the journalists yelled at Babar and said, “Ye koi tareeka nahi hain, yaha sawal ke lie aapko lagatar ishare kar rahe hain (This is not the way, I’m making repeated gestures to ask you a question).”

But Babar didn’t say anything and instead gave him a death stare before the PCB media manager turned off his microphone.

The video of this incident has gone viral on social media.

Talking about the fifth day’s play, Pakistan declared their second innings on 311/8 with lower-order batter Saud Shakeel remaining unbeaten on 55 (108) and tailender Mir Hamza on 3 (34). The surprise declaration opened the game as the visitors made a blazing start to chase the 138-run target.

The Black Caps lost the wicket of Michael Bracewell (3) in the very first over, but Devon Conway (18* off 16) and Tom Latham (35* off 24) gave their side hope of a victory.

“We need to take things session by session and day by day. We need to be positive and play with aggression. We’re working on it. Everyone has a different game and mindset. We need to credit New Zealand with the way they played and dominated,” said Babar at the post-match presentation.
