Twitter reactions: Virat Kohli, KL Rahul sizzle in India’s thrilling win over Bangladesh – T20 World Cup 2022

India beat Bangladesh in a thrilling game

Team India defeated Bangladesh by five runs (DLS method) at Adelaide Oval to acquire the top spot of Group 2 standings in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

Chasing the massive target of 185, Bangladesh went off to a flyer thanks to opener Litton Das, who came to all guns blazing. Das reached his fifty off just 21 balls and was looking set at 60 off 26 deliveries before the rain arrived, giving Indians much-needed breathing space.

After the rain, the equation was changed as the target was shortened to 151 runs in 16 overs, with Bangladesh needing 85 from nine overs with all 10 wickets in hand.

But the post-rain session turned out to be a disaster for the Tigers as Indian bowlers completely turnaround the proceedings by picking regular wickets courtesy of some high-class fielding which began with KL Rahul’s insane direct hit throw to dismiss Das for 60.

The contest eventually went down to the wire, with Bangladesh needing 20 runs in the final over. Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh held his nerves and successfully defended to take his side over the finish line.

Earlier, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli guided India to a commanding total of 184/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Rahul, who was struggling in the tournament, came back in form, setting the tone for India’s innings with some mind-boggling shots.

The Karnataka stalwart reached his half-century after facing 31 deliveries, and before he could further accelerate, Rahul got dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.

Kohli also carried his rich form forward and became the highest run-scorer in the history of the T20 World Cups, surpassing Mahela Jayawardene when he took his 16th run in this innings. The former India skipper held on to his wicket from one end and kept founding boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking. Kohli went on to score an unbeaten 64 from 44 deliveries, his third fifty of this tournament.
