Twitter erupts as Netherlands knock South Africa out of T20 World Cup 2022
The Netherlands sent South Africa crashing out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Sunday morning with a historic 13-run victory at the Adelaide Oval and also propelled India into the semi-finals.
The latest addition in the series of shocks at the ongoing tournament left Pakistan and Bangladesh competing for the last spot in the final four.
Table-toppers India are on six points and will face Zimbabwe in their last match of Super 12 stage at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday evening. The result of India versus Zimbabwe clash will decide the final fate of Super 12 standings and who faces whom in the upcoming semifinals.
Chasing 159 for victory after Colin Ackermann’s 41 not off 26 balls, South Africa could just manage 145 for the loss of 8 wickets, with Dutch pacer Brandon Glover returning with impressive figures of 3-9 in two overs.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:

Have loved and admired South African cricket. But their tryst with the World Cup is like one of those Hindi movie tragedies from the 50s and 60s. And there doesn't seem to be a happy ending in the last scene!

Congratulations Netherlands, in this World Cup, there’s nothing like a favourite team. Individuals who group and take responsibilities will win it for their side. Top quality cricket. #SAvNED #T20WorldCup

I keep trying to convince people that South Africa's chokers tag is wrong, it is based on a very small sample.
South Africa keep responding by increasing the sample size.
