T20 World Cup 2022: England vs Sri Lanka – Predicted XI, Pitch and Weather report
England and Sri Lanka will square off against each other in their last T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 fixture at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, November 5.
This is a must-win game for England to qualify for the semifinals; if they lose, Australia will make it to the final four. Dasun Shanak’s Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have nothing to lose and can become a party spoiler for Jos Buttler and his team. However, Sri Lanka have not beaten England since 2014. None of the likely Sri Lankan players have any memory of defeating England in a T20I.
Pitch and Weather report
This will be the third game on a used pitch and the second in last 48 hours. With a bit of sun out, the pitch could help the spinners, and the captain winning the toss may prefer to bat first.
The chances of rain in Sydney on Saturday are minimal, so fans can witness a full 40 overs contest.
Probable XI
England – Jos Buttler (c & wk), Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood

Recent form

Sri Lanka: WLLWW
Who said what?
Ahead of the game, Sri Lanka’s middle-order batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa told reporters what head coach Chris Silverwood has brought into the team: “He’s one coach that we’ve been looking forward to [for] his input, and the input has been quite straightforward, and the clarity is there. I mean, it’s quite simple with him.
“We’ve been pushed hard. There’s no limits with him, so we’ve been really pushed hard. He just wants us to get better every day, and it’s quite simple, as I said before. There’s so much clarity, and he’s been great, and we’ll get better hopefully in the future.”
