WATCH: Rahul Dravid reminisces a funny incident after scoring his first ton in school days
Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, who is highly regarded as one of the finest batters to play for the country, has quite often shared memorable incidents from his early days.
The former India captain, who smashed 48 centuries in international cricket, has once again shared an interesting episode concerning his first hundred in school cricket and how it gave him a lesson for the rest of his life.
Speaking with Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra on his podcast ‘In the Zone’, Dravid recalled a hilarious incident when his name was misprinted as ‘David’ in the newspaper.
Dravid said the development regarding his misprint name made him realise that he may have gotten a century, but he surely wasn’t well-known still.
“The editor obviously thought that there was a spelling mistake and there could be no one as Dravid. So, it had to be David, right? Because it’s a lot more common name,” said Dravid.
“So, I think it was a good lesson for me as well to realize that while I might be really happy and excited about scoring a 100 in school cricket but I am still not well known. And people don’t even know my name. They can’t even trust my name to be right and have to change it,” added ‘The Wall’.
