From Virat Kohli to Yuvraj Singh: Cricket fraternity mourns legendary singer KK’s sudden demise

In a shocking turn of events, famous Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 53. The legendary singer was performing at an event in Kolkata.

Minutes after his performance in the iconic Nazrul Mancha auditorium, KK suddenly fell ill and returned to his hotel. His condition then deteriorated, and he was rushed to the CMRI hospital, where he was declared dead.

As soon as the news of her sad demise spread across, cricket stars took to social media to mourn the loss. Indian super star Virat Kohli took to Twitter and paid his condolences to KK’s family and loved ones.

“Lost a magnificent singer of our times and so suddenly. Condolences to his family and close ones. # K.K.” tweeted Kohli.

Former India skipper Virender Sehwag wrote: “Tragic to hear about the passing away of K.K. after falling ill while performing in Kolkata. Another reminder of how fragile life is. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.”

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra paid tribute to the legend and said KK would forever live in everyone’s hearts through his songs.

“Deeply saddened to hear about K.K.’s untimely demise. Pal…yaad aayenge woh pal. It’s been such a dreadful year…too many good people gone too soon. May your soul R.I.P. You’ll continue to live in our hearts through your songs…forever,” tweeted Chopra.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer wrote: “Hum Rahe Ya Na Rahe Kal Kal Yaad Aayenge Yeh Pal Heartbreaking to know that K.K. is no more. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends.”

Legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to his official Twitter handle and wrote: “Life is so uncertain and fragile! Sad news about the tragic passing away of KK. May God grant strength to his family to bear with this loss. Om Shanti.”
