India won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batting lineup put on a formidable show, posting a total of 202/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with a scintillating century, scoring 100 runs off just 49 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 25 runs off 23 balls, and Rinku Singh added 37 runs off 15 balls.

Nepal’s bowlers faced a stern test against India’s aggressive batting lineup. Sompal Kami was the most successful bowler for Nepal, taking 1 wicket for 38 runs in his 4 overs. Kushal Bhurtel scored 28 runs off 32 balls, and Dipendra Singh provided some late resistance with a quickfire 33 runs off 15 balls, including 4 sixes. Sundeep Jora also played a fiery cameo, contributing 29 runs off 12 balls with 3 sixes.

India’s bowlers complemented the strong batting performance by picking up crucial wickets. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers, securing 3 wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs. Ravi Bishnoi also made an impact with 3 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore chipped in with 2 and 1 wicket(s) respectively.

In the end, India’s all-around performance was too much for Nepal to handle, and they secured a 23-run victory in this thrilling quarter-final clash. With this win, India advanced to the semi-finals of the Asian Games Men’s T20I 2023, keeping their hopes alive for the coveted gold medal.
