India carried their dominance on the home turf and went on to win their second consecutive match of the ODI World Cup 2023 by defeating Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday (October 11). Indian skipper Rohit Sharma hammered a brilliant ton and was the standout performer for the Men in Blue in their victory over the Afghan side.

However, what actually stole the limelight more than Rohit’s exploit was a heartwarming gesture of reconciliation between India batting star Virat Kohli and Afghanistan pacer Naveen ul Haq as the duo was seen exchanging pleasantries and putting an end to their feud.

It is worth mentioning that Virat and Naveen indulged in a heated argument during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2023. The rift gave rise to huge controversy and left fans divided. But something remarkable happened when the India-Afghanistan ODI World Cup 2023 clash was underway as both of them decided to end the fight by exchanging a heartfelt hug.

During India’s run chase against Afghanistan, Virat was seen urging fans not to taunt Naveen and also initiated a heartfelt exchange of pleasantries with his former adversary. The cameras even captured a heartening sight with both Virat and Naveen sharing a warm embrace.

The reconciliation didn’t stop on the field as both Virat and Naveen were spotted sharing laughs after the match, clearly indicating that the hatchet had been buried and they had moved on from their previous differences. Naveen even openly spoke about ending the feud and praised Kohli by hailing him as a ‘nice guy’.

“He is a nice guy, a good player and we shook hands. It’s always in the ground, it was nothing outside the ground. People make it big. They need that stuff for their followers. He said we are done with that and I said yes we are done with it. We shook hands and hugged,” Naveen was quoted saying by Indian Express.
