IPL 2022 [WATCH]: Virat Kohli’s animated celebration after MS Dhoni’s dismissal goes viral
Virat Kohli’s on-field antics always attract lots of attention and often become a major talking point on social media platforms. The trend has continued in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, where Kohli has been spotted exhibiting animated celebrations.
Notably, the Delhi-lad is not leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) this season and donning the jersey only as a player. However, that hasn’t become a hurdle for Kohli to take out his lively celebrations on the field. One such incident was on display in the recently-concluded high-voltage fixture between RCB and their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Both sides met at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Wednesday, where the Challengers managed to hand CSK their seventh defeat in the fifteenth season of the cash-rich league. RCB’s impressive death bowling restricted CSK at 160/8 after giving a target of 174 to the ‘Yellow Army’ and won the contest by 13 runs.
CSK fans had their hopes alive as skipper MS Dhoni was at the crease in the final moments of the game. However, Dhoni failed to replicate the magic like he did against Mumbai Indians (MI) earlier in the tournament, falling for just 2 runs in the penultimate over of CSK’s chase.
Dhoni went for a biggie on the very first ball of the 19th over bowled by pacer Josh Hazlewood. The right-handed batter pulled a short pitched delivery to the deep midwicket region but was unable to clear the fielder as Rajat Patidar grabbed a regulation catch to pack Dhoni’s innings. No wonder the dismissal of MSD erupted a moment of joy in the RCB camp as they could sniff the victory. Kohli, in particular, went wild with his celebrations.
