RCB keeps playoffs hopes alive with win over DC in IPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious against Delhi Capitals (DC) by a margin of 47 runs in Match 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The clash, which took place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, entertained fans from all corners. The win for RCB also helped them climb to the fifth spot in the points table and kept their playoffs hopes alive.

Rajat Patidar shines with the bat

RCB posted a competitive total of 187/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Virat Kohli provided a quick start with 27 runs off 13 balls, including 3 sixes. Will Jacks contributed with a brisk 41 off 29 deliveries, while Rajat Patidar played a crucial innings of 52 runs off 32 balls. Cameron Green and Mahipal Lomror also chipped in with valuable contributions of 32 and 13 runs respectively.

Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, and Kuldeep Yadav were the pick of the bowlers for Delhi Capitals, picking up crucial wickets. Rasikh Salam also made an impact with 2 wickets.

Axar Patel lone warrior for DC

Chasing 188 for victory, Delhi Capitals fell short, managing only 140 runs before being bowled out in 19.1 overs. Axar Patel was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a resilient 57 off 39 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build partnerships.

Yash Dayal was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, scalping 3 wickets for just 20 runs in 3.1 overs. Mohammed Siraj and Lockie Ferguson also made crucial contributions with the ball, picking up 1 wicket each.
