Farooqi's wicket of Rohit Sharma - IND vs AFG, 2nd T20I

In a captivating encounter between India and Afghanistan during the second T20I of their three-match series, a standout moment captured the essence of the game at Holkar Stadium in Indore. The match, eventually sealed by the hosts with a convincing six-wicket victory, featured a pivotal instance when Rohit Sharma got dismissed by Fazlhaq Farooqui.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Farooqui showcased his skill and precision, delivering a masterful ball that led to the dismissal of the Indian skipper.

Farooqui’s wicket of Rohit Sharma

The defining moment transpired on the second last delivery of the first over during India’s batting, when Farooqi showcased his bowling prowess with a well-directed length delivery targeting the leg stump, skillfully angling it away with the arm. In response, Rohit, displaying his trademark aggressive approach, cleared his front leg and swung across the line.

However, the precision of left-arm seeamer’s delivery proved too much for the right-handed batter, as the ball narrowly missed the under edge and crashed emphatically into the stumps. It resulted in Rohit’s early departure without a single run to his name, marking a significant setback for the 36-year-old, who had struggled to make an impact in the game and, notably, throughout the series.
